قاهره که یکی از بزرگترین شهرهای هر دو کشور آفریقا و خاورمیانه است، پایتخت مصر است. قاهره مرکز اهمیت زیادی برای بسیاری از تمدن ها، فرهنگ ها و ادیان بوده است. از فرعونی و گرکو روم تا عثمانی و اروپایی و عبور از کنار یهودی، مسیحی و اسلامی، هر یک از هویت های آن اثر محکمی بر قاهره گذاشته و به این ترتیب آن را به یکی از جذاب ترین شهرهای جهان تبدیل کرده است. فلات جیزه که شامل اهرام جیزه و اسفناکس است، تنها بناهای تاریخی باقی مانده از عجایب هفت دنیای باستان و مشهورترین جاذبه توریستی این کشور است. توده پوچ اهرام هیبت الهام بخش است. قاهره اسلامی، مرکز قاهره تاریخی، به بهترین وجه پیاده انجام می شود. واقع در شرق مرکز شهر, آن را پر از مساجد جذاب کوچک و چشمه های آب. مهم ترین مکان های بازدید ارگ، مسجد محمد علی، خان ال خلیلی، بازار اصلی، برخی مساجد تاریخی و نمایش معماری قرون وسطی و همچنین برخی حمام های ترکی قاهره یا حمام ها هستند. هیچ بازدیدی از قاهره بدون دیدن موزه مصر کامل نیست.فضای عجیب و غریب، ترافیک آشفته، هزاران مناره، سر و صدا، آدم های جذاب، قاهره شهری جذاب است. تعداد کمی از شهرهای جهان از قاهره در تعداد بناهای تاریخی یا سبک های معماری پیشی می گیرد. قاهره یک شهر عادی نیست، قاهره یک جهان کامل است.
